We refer to these techniques as the "Postmodern Principles"
Juxtaposition
The putting together of objects or images that are random happenings that might intentionally clash, to form visual and emotional contrast
Appropriation
The use of objects or materials that already exist to create a piece of art
Interaction of Text and Image
Layering
The placing of images one on top of another, in a collaged manner.
The text and image do not clarify each other. In other words, they do not describe what is happening in the picture, but they are in some way related.
